Bones, Bending, and Big Discoveries!
𦴠Year 3 had an exciting time exploring the length and weight of our bones!
π¦· Using our skeleton model and the help of some volunteer scientists, we investigated whether bones are heavy and if they can bend.
βͺοΈ Then, we carried out an experiment to compare the lengths of the radius and ulna in adults and children. Some of us were amazed to discover that a few classmates have arms as long as Miss Wiggins’ and Miss Fleetwood’s!
World Bee Day
We celebrated World Bee Day this week and supported the amazing work of Bebe's Hive CIC, a place that is going to do so much to help children navigate bereavement:
A safe place where little hearts can heal, create and find hope after loss.

REWARDS
Improving attendance is everyone’s business. The barriers to accessing education are wide and complex, both within and beyond the school gates, and are often specific to individual pupils and families. At Co-op Academy Portland, we will do all we can to support your family and ensure our academy is safe, calm and a supportive environment for your child. Let’s celebrate everyone’s success together.
